A patent is a form of intellectual property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention for a limited period of years in exchange for publishing an enabling public disclosure of the invention. It is mandatory for all Indian inventors who want to protect their intellectual property, regardless of their respective sectors to get their patent registered under the Patent Act, 2002. The patent is an exclusive right granted by a Government to an individual who has invented any new and useful device, software, products or processes.
